Considering Foster Care or Adoption?

Here’s How You Can Get started!

Whether you’re interested in international adoption, infant open adoption, foster care, or foster care adoption, we’re here to help! We offer a number of ways for you to learn more about adoption, foster care, and the services, expertise, and support that Children’s Home and LSS can provide you and your family.

Determine Your Program Eligibility for Free

We want to help you find the best program for your family. You can submit our Registration Form with no obligation and no fee. You are not considered a client of CH/LSS until a service contract is complete. Note: If you are exclusively interested in Foster Care and/or Foster Care Adoption, your first step is to attend a Foster Care Adoption Orientation.

Application Part 1

Please Note: Please submit your Application Part 1 by email, if possible. Send to [email protected].

Discover Your Adoption Funding Options

Often families who adopt have the means to support a child, but they do not have the financial resources to cover all of the upfront adoption fees. Our families have the opportunity to apply for our Adoption Support Fund and to consult with My Adoption Finance Coach at no cost. Additionally, there are a number of grants and funding options available.

Explore Your Agency Options

It is common for families completing an international adoption to use one or two agencies. We provide home study and placement services in MD, MN, VA, and Western WI. If you are a U.S. resident living outside of these areas, we can assist you with the placement of a child through one of our international programs, while you work with another agency, licensed in your state of residence, to complete your home study.

Find an Agency in Your State

Contact a Reference Family

While considering which agency you will work with, we recommend that you contact reference families to ask them about their experience. A number of our adoptive families are ready to answer your call or email.
