We Strongly Believe in Serving ALL Children and Families
We define family as consisting of two or more people, whether living together or apart, related by blood, marriage, adoption, or commitment to care for one another.
Your home could be ideal for a child in foster care or a child waiting for a loving, permanent adoptive home. If you have patience, flexibility, commitment, and deep love to provide a child, adoption and foster care could open your mind and heart in ways you may never have imagined.
After an assessment of our inclusive policies and affirming practices, we’ve been honored to be recognized for the third consecutive year at the Innovator level in Human Rights Campaign’s All Children-All Families 2021 Report. We’ve seen countless examples of support and success for LGBTQ families looking to adopt or foster through our programs. We are proud to offer many options for you to grow your family through foster care or adoption.

We are happy to connect with you! Attending an in-person or online information meeting is a great first step. At any time you can email or call our Adoption Information team to discuss your individual circumstances, ask questions, or set up a one-on-one consultation.
As you research options, it can be helpful to know the differences between our domestic and international adoption programs.
Our international adoption programs are open to folks residing throughout the U.S. Each country we work with determines its own eligibility requirements. At this time, our Colombia program is the only international adoption option open to LGBTQIA+-identifying individuals. Other primary providers may have additional country program options like South Africa, etc.
Our domestic adoption programs include infant adoption, foster care, and foster care adoption. Our infant program is open to all individuals, including those in the LGBTQIA+ community, who reside in Maryland, Minnesota, and Virginia. Our foster care and foster care adoption programs are open to all individuals, including those in the LGBTQIA+ community, who reside in Minnesota.
